welcome Arab International Academy

Arab International Academy (AIA) was founded in Doha, Qatar in 2016, with the goal of establishing an advanced international school that provides a rigorous, global educational experience. To achieve that goal, AIA has drawn on the very best of international philosophy in our choices of curriculum and approaches to 21st-century teaching and learning. AIA is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Diploma Programme (DP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), and also a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Arab International Academy (AIA) aspires to contribute to raising the next generation of informed citizens who can comfortably and confidently adapt to an ever-changing world. All AIA graduates will possess the necessary skills and abilities to lift communities up and address challenges while taking on the responsibility of being the stewards of the preservation and advancement of their own culture and civilization. Indeed, they will understand and engage with the culture and civilization of others, and interact with others on the basis of equality.

Arab International Academy works to provide students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that is rich, challenging and focuses on the integration of disciplines. The learning and teaching methodologies used encourage creative exploration, critical thinking, and responsible behavior. The environment equips students with the tools they need to engage with the complex and interdependent world around them in a productive manner whether at the individual or whole community level. In order to facilitate this integration, students at AIA start learning both languages, Arabic and English, in the Pre-School. As they progress, in addition to Arabic and English, they will be learning French as a third language.

Arab International Academy strives to implement rigorous, international academic programs that align with the mission and vision. Therefore, Arab International Academy pursued and received the IB Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme authorization. It also gained candidacy status for the IB PYP for grades K-5.

The goal of the IB Programs is to develop the whole person cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically. The IB programs also strive to help students develop the ability to face challenges with an open mind and to cultivate an awareness of their identity and culture with an understanding and acceptance of others. The IB program’s philosophy is designed to create students who are: thinkers, inquirers, communicators, risk-takers, and are also balanced, reflective, principled, caring, knowledgeable, and open-minded.

For the school year 2019-2020, we accept applications for students in grades KG1 (3 years old) to grade eleven. For more information about the application process and requirements, please use the following link:

Recognizing that students learn different things, in different ways, from different people, at different times, and in different places, AIA provides the necessary physical environment to support this belief. AIA has highly equipped classrooms, small group areas, multi-purpose rooms, a common multi-purpose space, locker areas, science labs, indoor and outdoor sports fields, libraries, dedicated music and art rooms, educational gardens, a clinic, and a dining area. These facilities cater to many learning modalities such as independent learning, peer tutoring, teamwork, one-on-one instruction, lecture, project-based inquiry, research, interdisciplinary study, drama, seminar, learning through design, and art-based learning.
